Biography

I make ceramic sculpture that reflects upon the psychology of society and its relationship to my personal narrative.

The human form and its expressiveness fascinate me.  I see great beauty in the planes and shapes of the body.  Yet at its surface, the human form reflects a mere fraction of the inner journey of mind and spirit that defines us as human.  I like to imagine what would it be like if elements from this journey manifest themselves on the surface of the body in tangible form.

Much inspiration for my work is gleaned from my wanderlust, particularly for travel within Asian cultures. I seek the quiet moment, and gravitate to the gentle murmur, the meditative corner, and the beauty of everyday objects. Throughout all of my work, I strive to express a blending of the cultural and natural world through form, texture and surface color.
